Summary of decisions of the HARP SC of 1 August 2003

A short summary of the decisions of each SC will be written and be
public inside the collaboration.

Agenda:
1-SPSC status report (SR)

The discussion was based on the information given in the analysis
meeting of 31 July.  

Results presented in the SR will reflect the status frozen by 7
August.  The text will be frozen by 14 August.

All software, analysis programs and calibration files used for the
progress report should be in the repository.

The following (sub)sections will be added
-Aim of the experiment (in Introduction)
-Data-taking in 2002 (section, with summary table)
-TPC reconstruction performance (in TPC section)
-Conclusion and plan.  

For drift chambers, Cherenkov, TOFW, electron and muon identifier, and
beam detector sections the situation is good and only editing and some
improved plots will be needed as already identified at the analysis
meeting. 

To the TPC section we have to add
- TPC reconstruction performance (as introduction to the other parts,
Gabriella will coordinate this)
- TPC cross-talk correction, describing pulser data and the model
description.  We try to include consistency checks of the various
approaches.  (Gabriel as editor)
- Static distortions (Silvia as editor)
- A description of the present efforts of the TPC calibration (Ugo
will report next week)

For the RPC section, we need a quantitative statement on the
requirements on the TPC tracks imposed by the calibration.
