Subject: 1.5 GeV/c data taking Date: Tue, 24 Sep 2002 11:06:23 +0200 (CEST) From: Friedrich DYDAK To: ps-proj-hadroprod@listbox.cern.ch Dear harpists: You may know from the minutes of the last Tuesday meeting that we are spending one week on taking data at +1.5 GeV/c with 5% Pb, 5% Ta, 5% Cu, 10% water and 100% water targets. The rationale behind is to collect valuable data for possible designs of neutron spallation sources, and to shed some light on the largest uncertainty in the background to the anomalous LSND signal (thanks to our MiniBooNE colleague G. Mills who pointed to this opportunity). Please find at http://home.cern.ch/dydak/LSNDriddle.ps a short note which gives some details of the water target campaign. Sincerely, Friedrich
